Yes, we know that our name is interesting to pronounce and downright different. It is always a conversation starter and that’s partly why we love it so much. At Comhar we’re all about people and the relationships we form with them, so striking up a conversation about how we chose our name is often the beginning of forging a new connection.
And the story goes... As a Canadian family business, we wanted a name that best reflects the work that we do and the values that define us; the fact that it’s an Irish word makes it perfect because it connects it all back to our Irish heritage. Comhar is a noun and it means work, mutual assistance, cooperation and partnership. In our business of finding solutions through people, it’s these principles that set the foundation of support and trust between us and our partners.
